My greatest fear is that literally the day after I finish Watch 50 we’re going to be put back in quarantine and I’ll have to keep watching The Meg. I don’t know if I could do it.

• Maybe “Jonas was right” is Lori’s safe word.
• What compelled Jason Statham to buy a busted-up boat anyway? I’d like to think he got the idea after watching Forrest Gump on night.
• “My dad’s with a pilates instructor in Taipei.” – As someone who used to do a lot of babysitting, I can confirm that this is the most accurate representation of an eight-year-old I’ve ever seen. No warning, no shame, so concern for how someone is supposed to respond to such a blunt statement.
• Not only did this movie kill 3 whales, one of those was a BABY!
• At no point is it ever established what year it is.
• I’m saying this because the Megalodon coming back from extinction feels like a very 2020 kind of thing to happen.
• I don’t know why, but Statham’s muted “yeh” at 1:24:43 gets me every time.
